Do you want to make a difference in your
community?

Are you passionate about
improving the lives of vulnerable people?

Have you thought about becoming a Board Member?

SKylight, a Charitable Community Benefit Society, and part of Stockport Homes Group, is looking for Board Members to join its Board and help steer the growth of this innovative and forward-thinking organisation as it embarks on a new phase to support people in Stockport.

SKylight delivers a range of services in the community, including Your Local Pantry, the Furniture Recycling Project, Employment Support and projects which tackle homelessness and rough sleeping, and we are continuing to expand and diversify. But we need skilled and committed Board Members to help us.

If you have experience in the VCSE sector, including as a Board Member, or you have skills or experience in finance or governance; or you’re a customer of ours we would love to hear from you. As an organisation we are committed to ensuring our organisation and our Board reflect the customers and communities we serve and would particularly welcome applications from under-represented communities including ethnic minority, LGBTQ+ and disabled candidates.

You will be required to attend and participate in Board meetings at least four times a year and join us for three away day sessions. In return, we will provide a broad range of training and development opportunities within SKylight and SHG, tailored to meet your needs, as well as a Mentoring scheme with experienced Board Members and Directors. We also cover out-of pocket expenses.

If you have any questions about the role please contact Rachel Cossey, Governance Manager, on 0161 474 2850 or governance@stockporthomes.org.
