We’re currently recruiting for an Employment Officer to offer a comprehensive bespoke service to customers, addressing all areas of employment advice and guidance.
The Key purpose of this position is to support the residents of Stockport into employment, training, education, volunteering and work placement opportunities. You will have specialist knowledge and experience of engaging, assessing and planning employment interventions with customers who present varying levels of need.
You will act as an influential member of the SHG team, conducting regular interventions which provide professional advice and guidance empower dance to customers to make positive changes to their lives.
As an Employment Officer, you will be responsible for:
Deliver a quality bespoke service to all customers providing employment related information, advice, and guidance
Provide drop-in service and one to one sessions with customers
Engage customers to create quality CV’s, Application forms, Cover letters and prepare for interview
Provide careers advice and job searching, developing a bespoke plan for each customer
Work with customers to identify related training and education needs
Our ideal candidate will have:
The ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with participants and internal and external stakeholders to overcome barriers
The ability to evidence experience of interacting with customers to effectively ascertain their strengths and identify appropriate realistic job goals
A working knowledge of careers advice and benefits to support customers
Experience of working on Employability related contracts and services
Experience of maintaining quality, comprehensive, real-time case management records which monitor customer progression and identify opportunities
A passion for learning and undertake training courses as needed
Experience of working in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies
